Atelier Mephalie returns with a gold-carved Voice of China repeater

Atelier Mephalie’s return puts Shanghai architecture at the centre of a minute repeater. The Voice of China, from its Mei collection, uses an 18K rose-gold dial carved in relief to depict No. 12 on the Bund. The layered dome and colonnade make the building the principal decoration, framed by a matching gold case and hands.

The 42mm case is 11.6mm thick, with a slide to activate the chimes and a sapphire back revealing the striking mechanism. The hand-wound movement runs at 4Hz and provides 45 hours of reserve. Mephalie limits this version to 20 pieces, with Fratello reporting a US$59,500 price before taxes. It forms part of a three-model relaunch that also introduces enamel work and an animated musical scene.
