What to know

Audemars Piguet opened its Marvel partnership with a Royal Oak Concept that treats Black Panther as three-dimensional horological sculpture. Reference 26620IO.OO.D077CA.01 places a hand-sculpted and hand-painted white-gold figure over the openworked movement. The 42 mm sandblasted titanium case is framed by a black ceramic bezel and crown, while purple accents and a matching rubber strap echo the Wakandan hero’s costume.

Calibre 2965 is a manually wound flying-tourbillon movement running at 3 Hz with a 72-hour power reserve. The case measures 14.6 mm thick and is water-resistant to 50 metres. Released in a numbered edition of 250, the model established the template for AP’s later character-led Royal Oak Concept collaborations.
