F.P. Journe: The titanium élégante 40 pairs a luminous dial with an intelligent pause

The élégante 40 mm Titanium places an electromechanical movement inside a slim tortue-shaped case. Its luminous white dial, blued hands and exposed motion detector at roughly 4:30 make the functional design easy to recognise. Coloured rubber straps change the character without changing the case or dial; white, pale pink and yellow are illustrated.

Quartz-regulated calibre 1210 stops moving the hands after 35 minutes without motion while its electronics continue keeping time. When worn again, the hands return to the current time by the shorter route. F.P. Journe quotes eight to ten years of battery life in daily use and up to eighteen in standby.
