What to know
Panerai’s new Luminor 42 collection reduces the proportions of its familiar cushion case while keeping the prominent crown-protection bridge. Three references make up the range: PAM01710 in steel with a black dial, PAM01711 in steel with green, and PAM01714 in black DLC-coated steel with a blue dial. Each is supplied on a coordinating canvas strap.

The 42mm case is rated to 500 metres and uses a closed steel back. Automatic calibre P.980 provides a three-day reserve and small seconds at nine, without a date display. Launch reporting lists the steel versions at €6,500 and the DLC model at €7,500. These are permanent-collection watches rather than numbered editions.
