What to know

Sinn’s 140 A S Anniversary celebrates the Frankfurt brand’s 65th year by returning to one of its most consequential instrument-watch designs. The blacked-out 44mm chronograph recalls the 140 S worn by astronaut Reinhard Furrer during the 1985 D1 Spacelab mission, when the automatic watch operated in weightlessness.

The new edition uses Sinn’s automatic SZ01 calibre, placing both the chronograph seconds and 60-minute counter at the dial centre for rapid reading. Its 904L-steel case and bracelet receive Tegiment hardening and a black hard coating; D3 crown and pushers, Ar-Dehumidifying Technology, sapphire crystal and 100 metres of water resistance reinforce the tool-watch specification. A black-and-yellow integrated strap is also supplied. Production is limited to 300 pieces.
