Research method

Desk-based analysis of exact-reference Tudor specifications and official product photographs, corroborated by dated independent reporting. No hands-on testing; current local price and stock unverified. Historical reporting dates retained; no invented launch day. Three distinct official images visually checked against the exact reference, registered with original page/file URLs and published terms, and approved under Pieter’s temporary owner-directed official-site policy of 5 November 2026; no brand-issued licence asserted.

The analysis

The opaline Black Bay Pro M79470-0004 uses a 39mm steel case and automatic MT5652 GMT movement. Tudor specifies COSC certification, approximately 70 hours of reserve and 200-metre water resistance. The steel-bracelet reference has T-fit adjustment.

Its black-outlined hands and markers sit against an opaline dial, with a yellow 24-hour hand for reference time. That creates a different visual hierarchy from the dark-dial family members. Whether that is easier to read in a particular environment needs direct comparison; a product photograph cannot prove it.

The travel function is the more consequential operational distinction: the local hour can jump forwards or backwards, and the date follows local time. Dial colour does not change that mechanism. Buyers should separate their preference for the display from their need to adjust local time while travelling.

Strap versions are sibling configurations, not separate editorial launches. This desk research uses Tudor’s exact model specification and press material, cross-checked against dated reporting. No new calibre, slimmer case, tested legibility or current stock is claimed.
