What to know
The C5 Recon Field Solar places large, green-tinted Arabic numerals against a matte black dial, with smaller twenty-four-hour markings inside the main scale. Broad hands and a date window provide straightforward everyday information. The steel case gives the Recon a lighter visual character than Vaer’s black-coated tactical models while retaining the same emphasis on clarity.

The 40mm watch uses an Epson VS42 solar-quartz movement and is assembled in the United States. Vaer lists a 48mm lug-to-lug span, 10.4mm thickness, antireflective sapphire glass and 100-metre water resistance. Its light-powered rechargeable energy system supports regular wear with less attention to winding. Steel-bracelet and textile-strap configurations give the same dial noticeably different personalities.
