What to know
The D5 Tropic puts most of its visual energy into the outer dial. A broad pale ring contains elongated dark markers, surrounding a black centre and strong luminous hands. The red date display at six adds a small but effective interruption to the monochrome design. A dark rotating dive bezel keeps the overall silhouette familiar.

The 39mm watch uses a Miyota 9015 automatic movement and is assembled in the United States. Vaer specifies a 42-hour power reserve, sapphire glass, a 46mm lug-to-lug span and 200-metre water resistance. Steel-bracelet and textile-strap options allow the striking dial to read as either a more integrated sports watch or a relaxed outdoor instrument. This profile covers the existing 39mm configuration.
