What to know
Rado’s True Square x Kunihiko Morinaga ref. R27086172 uses light itself as a design material. The photochromic dial darkens when exposed to ultraviolet light; away from it, the dial becomes transparent and allows the automatic movement to appear through the square case.

The monobloc case and bracelet are made from polished black high-tech ceramic. At 38 millimetres wide and 9.7 millimetres thick, the watch uses the visual reach of a square without becoming excessively tall.

Inside is the automatic Rado calibre R734, fitted with a Nivachron hairspring and specified for an 80-hour power reserve. The collaboration turns an already distinctive form into an optical object whose legibility and mechanical display change with its environment.
