What to know
Independent British watchmaker Isotope has a recognisable way of turning familiar elements into something strange and appealing. Its Flyway Coral features a vividly coloured dial stamped with a pyramid pattern, a satin finish softening the geometry into a more organic surface inspired by underwater coral.
The stainless-steel Flyway case measures 36mm across, 42mm lug to lug and 12.3mm thick. Its silhouette suggests wings stretched outward from the round dial, while a finely patterned Clous de Paris bezel surrounds an unusually sculptural saddle-shaped sapphire crystal. The bracelet appears carefully matched to the case, although its non-integrated construction also makes strap changes practical.

A small Lacrima-shaped symbol and delicate silver-coloured hands create an identifiable design vocabulary without overwhelming the dial. Super-LumiNova on indices and hands maintains useful legibility. The watch is water resistant to 100 metres and includes a sapphire exhibition caseback.

Isotope offers the Flyway Coral with a choice of Swiss automatic movements: a Landeron calibre with 40 hours of power reserve, or a La Joux-Perret G101 with 68 hours. Production is limited to 100 pieces, and the official listing shows a price of £1,496. In an independent-watch landscape crowded with vintage references, its colour and case geometry make a refreshing alternative.
