What to know
Frédérique Constant has done something quietly satisfying with its new Classics Moneta Handwinding. The dial grades from warm smoked salmon to a darker brown-black around the edges, while a finely grooved inner flange draws inspiration from the edge of a coin. Instead of cluttering the display, the design creates a hierarchy of concentric surfaces around a small-seconds indication at six.
The 38.5mm polished steel case keeps the proportions familiar and the treatment sophisticated. Applied faceted markers and a dark alligator strap give the gradient its room to breathe. Seen from a sharp angle, the outer groove becomes an architectural feature rather than a printed ornament.

A La Joux-Perret-based, manually wound FC-435 calibre powers the watch for approximately 63 hours and can be admired through the sapphire caseback. Part of Frédérique Constant's 2026 Moneta programme, this reference is limited to 999 pieces. Its appeal is in texture, colour and the pleasure of deliberately winding a mechanical watch.
