What to know
A Zenith × Naoya Hida collaboration could have been an exercise in double branding. Instead, the G.F.J. Double Signed rethinks nearly every visible detail of the dial. Made from solid silver, it carries the two signatures in precise engraving, while the three Arabic numerals and chapter marks are finished by hand and filled with rich blue Japanese urushi lacquer. Slim solid-gold hands and a heat-blued subsidiary seconds hand complete an almost austere appearance.
The 39.15mm platinum case houses a modern manual-winding Calibre 135, rebuilt around the illustrious 1950s chronometer architecture. Its 18,000-vph movement provides 72 hours of reserve and COSC certification. Produced in a mere ten examples, the watch comes with three Japan-made straps: Himeji Kurozan leather, Kyoto Wagyu leather and Kaihara denim. A rare meeting of two schools of deliberate detail.
