What to know
An anniversary watch need not resort to a flag printed on the dial. Zenith's Chronomaster Revival Liberty II uses a red-and-white striped chronograph seconds hand representing the thirteen original American colonies, with pale dial, blue subdials and a highlighted 250 on the tachymeter scale. Even the numeral four on the date disc gets a red accent, an oblique nod to July Fourth.
The 37mm tonneau-shaped steel case follows the iconic 1969 A384, and an open back reveals automatic Calibre El Primero 400. Operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour, it offers a 50-hour reserve and a full set of conventional chronograph counters. Limited to 250 watches for the United States, the steel edition includes a classic Gay Frères-inspired ladder bracelet and an additional blue Cordura-style strap.
