What to know
Rather than group all its hands at the centre, Chopard's 2026 L.U.C 1963 Heritage Regulator assigns each function a clearly defined zone. A long central white-gold hand displays minutes, hours occupy a subsidiary dial at three, seconds and date share six, GMT sits at nine and an arched power-reserve indicator crowns the dial. The silver sunburst finish and restrained blue markings make this abundance of information unexpectedly orderly.

The 40mm case is crafted in ethical white gold and measures 10.3mm thick, a marked change from the 43mm predecessor of 2015. Through the transparent back, hand-wound Calibre L.U.C 98.02-L reveals its four series-connected barrels and Geneva Seal finishing. Its 216-hour reserve is a full nine days. Chopard specifies 4Hz, COSC chronometer certification and 30m water resistance.
Limited to 25 examples, reference 161993-1001 recalls workshop regulator clocks, when minutes were deliberately given priority for precise setting and comparison. The result is a quietly intellectual complication: it looks like a tool for understanding time, even as its hand-finished movement represents some of the manufacture's most refined contemporary watchmaking.
