What to know
IWC’s Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet 140 Years Mercedes-Benz, reference IW329603, is more than a partnership edition. Its 42mm steel case contains the first IWC perpetual calendar that can be corrected both forwards and backwards through a single crown position. The traditional four-subdial layout remains, including a four-digit year display and Double Moon indication, but the setting experience has been radically simplified.
The new gear-based calendar module is protected by four patents and uses LIGA-produced components. Its moon display is calculated to deviate by only one day in 1,040 years. Calibre 82665 uses Pellaton automatic winding with ceramic components and stores 60 hours of power. The black dial, solid-gold appliqués and historic Mercedes-Benz emblem on the sapphire back distinguish this 140-piece edition.
