What to know
Patek Philippe created the Ref. 5978P-010 for its Milan exhibition, combining its manually wound chronograph architecture with an instantaneous perpetual calendar for the first time. The 42mm platinum case frames a navy sunburst dial with a black gradient, textured centre and Italian calendar indications. Red chronograph hands and stitching add contrast, while a diamond is set discreetly into the case at six o’clock.
The new CH 29-535 PS QI calibre contains 500 components and synchronises the chronograph and calendar displays. It provides day, date, month, leap year, day/night indication, moon phase and small seconds, with a stated 55-to-65-hour reserve when the chronograph is disengaged. The 30-metre water-resistant watch is limited to 120 pieces.
