What to know

For its half-century, Raymond Weil created just 50 examples of the Millesime The Fifty, reference 1976-SGC-65001. The 37 mm chronograph uses a stainless-steel case topped by an 18-karat white-gold bezel. Its four-part silver dial combines grained, snailed and stamped textures around a traditional bi-compax layout.

Inside is an original Valjoux 23-6 column-wheel chronograph from 1976, restored and decorated by hand for this edition. Raymond Weil identifies it as calibre RW1976; it runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers a stated 40-hour reserve. A glassbox sapphire crystal covers the dial, while the exhibition back reveals black-ruthenium bridges, Geneva stripes and blued screws. Water resistance is 50 metres. The limited edition was listed at CHF 8,650 and is sold out.
