What to know

Belgian independent Ressence has expanded the Type 7 with Black and Cactus green dial options. The model already stood apart through its oil-filled display and continuously orbiting indications, but these new colours give its tool-watch personality two distinct directions. Black emphasises the white graphic indications and bright details of the GMT display, while Cactus extends a natural, earthy green from the dial to an optional rubber strap.

At 41 mm wide and 14 mm thick, the Grade 5 titanium case is engineered around two sealed chambers, with 2.95 ml of oil in the display compartment. The oil eliminates the usual optical distortion at viewing angles, helping the floating indications appear directly beneath the crystal. A fixed ceramic bezel frames the dial, while the bracelet is titanium with five-position clasp adjustment.

The self-winding movement is coupled to the ROCS 7 orbital display through magnetic transmission between the oil and air chambers. Its indications comprise hours, minutes, a separate GMT display, a 120-second runner and a colour-based oil-temperature indicator. Ressence quotes a 36-hour power reserve, 28,800 vibrations per hour and 5 ATM water resistance.

The Black and Cactus treatments were introduced in May 2026, with the option of a colour-matched rubber strap alongside the titanium bracelet. The Belgian brand lists a retail price of €47,700 including VAT. The release demonstrates that even a radically different way of displaying time can develop its own enduring design language through simple changes of colour and material.
