What to know
Tissot has refreshed the 42mm PRX Automatic Chronograph with a blue-gradient dial and a contrasting white date aperture. Reference T137.427.11.041.01 keeps the substantial 316L steel case, integrated quick-release bracelet and three-register layout of the mechanical chronograph. The case is 14.54mm thick, weighs 184 grams and carries a sapphire crystal with antireflective coating plus 100-metre water resistance.
Behind the transparent back sits the Valjoux A05.H31 automatic chronograph calibre. It provides up to 68 hours of reserve, uses a Nivachron balance spring and records elapsed time through 12-hour, 30-minute and central 60-second indications. Tissot lists the model at $2,150 in the United States. The gradient finish adds depth without changing the deliberately muscular proportions that separate the automatic chronograph from slimmer quartz PRX models.
