What to know
When Casio introduced the GA-2100 in 2019, the goal was not greater visual complexity but a thinner, cleaner expression of its original octagonal identity. The result looked at home with everyday clothes while still being unmistakably a G-SHOCK.
Carbon Core Guard construction uses fibre-reinforced resin to stiffen the case around the module while holding the thickness to 11.8 mm. The largely black GA-2100-1A1 makes the layered analogue-digital dial and octagonal silhouette the central design features.

Its 51-gram body provides 200-metre water resistance, digital world time, a stopwatch, alarms and LED lighting. The slim architecture and robust mechanics coexist without the towering profile of earlier tool-oriented models.
The GA-2100 proved that an iconic tough-watch design could adapt to a more minimalist era. Its many subsequent variations are evidence of just how versatile that shape has become.
