Great Scott! Casio turns the calculator watch into a DeLorean

Casio has always understood that an inexpensive digital watch can become a cultural icon. For the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future, the CA-500WEBF-1A turns that idea into an unusually coherent prop-inspired edition. The calculator-style front becomes a miniature DeLorean dashboard, with an OUTATIME detail above the screen and coloured keypad legends that echo the film's destination-time circuits.

The tribute becomes more playful when the watch comes off the wrist. Casio engraves the fictional flux capacitor on the steel caseback and the movie's logo on the bracelet clasp. Even the box is designed to evoke a VHS cassette. These are small industrial-design gestures, but they do much more than a giant movie logo would: they make the object feel discovered inside the fictional universe.

The watch keeps its everyday functionality. It has an eight-digit calculator, dual time, stopwatch, alarm and auto-calendar in a slim 43.2 × 34.4 × 8.2mm resin case with an adjustable stainless-steel bracelet. First announced in October 2025, the collaboration celebrates the look of retro-futurism rather than trying to disguise its modest quartz electronics.
