What to know
Audemars Piguet’s 2026 Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Openworked makes the calendar mechanism itself the visual centre of the watch. The 41mm case combines titanium with Bulk Metallic Glass, framing an airy architecture of exposed bridges and calendar indications.
Its new automatic Calibre 7139 takes the practical approach introduced with AP’s recent calendar architecture: the wearer can correct the indications from a single crown instead of relying on separate recessed pushers. That seemingly small improvement makes a mechanically complex watch easier to use.
The movement measures just 4.1mm thick, runs at 4Hz and offers a stated 55-hour power reserve. Day, date, month and moonphase indications remain visible on the open dial, while the movement's hand-finished components can be admired from both sides.
AP simultaneously introduced a Code 11.59 with the same calibre. The Royal Oak version demonstrates how the brand continues to combine futuristic materials with classical watchmaking complications.
