What to know

The Senator Chronograph Navigator takes Glashütte Original's classical Senator design in a more functional direction. Inspired by pilot's chronographs developed in Glashütte during the 1940s, its matte-black dial uses oversized luminous Arabic numerals, bright white hands and a crisp peripheral tachymeter. Far from merely decorating a historic format, the styling helps distinguish chronograph information in low light. The bracelet-mounted reference 1-37-24-20-12-71 completes the utilitarian look.

The 41 mm stainless-steel case is 12.9 mm thick, with a prominent pilot-style screw-down crown and mushroom-shaped chronograph pushers. Through the sapphire display back sits calibre 37-24, an in-house automatic flyback chronograph operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Its 70-hour power reserve is supported by a silicon balance spring, while the movement carries familiar Saxon finishing, including striped plates, blued screws and an oscillating weight with a 21-carat gold mass.

The dial provides central chronograph seconds, a 30-minute counter, running seconds and Glashütte Original's Panorama Date at six. Flyback functionality allows consecutive timings without first stopping the chronograph. Rated to 50 metres of water resistance, the model was introduced in August 2026 alongside a more formal silver-dial Senator Chronograph. The Navigator's strength is the clarity with which it turns high-end chronograph mechanics into a practical pilot-watch design.
