What to know
Mido has introduced the first COSC-certified chronometer in its Multifort TV Big Date collection. Reference M049.567.11.041.00 retains the television-shaped steel case, measuring 39.2 by 40mm, but adds a blue sunray dial with a rectangular checkerboard pattern. Redesigned hour markers and a stepped minute track frame the large date display at twelve.

The automatic Calibre 80 COSC provides up to 80 hours of power reserve and uses a Nivachron hairspring. Mido specifies 100 metres of water resistance, a screw-down crown, a transparent caseback and sapphire with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The watch comes on a steel bracelet. Its Swiss listing is CHF1,350; that is the manufacturer’s local price, not a currency conversion.
