What to know

Unveiled on 10 October 2026, Raymond Weil’s Freelancer World-Traveller commemorates the centenary of its founder’s birth and fifty years since the Geneva company’s creation. Just 260 examples will be made. Within a restrained 40 mm stainless-steel case, the dial carries an unexpectedly tactile vision of the world: champagne-coloured continents, formed through stamping and laser texturing, appear raised above midnight-blue oceans.

This is more than a decorative map. The automatic RW3230 movement drives local time, an independently adjustable GMT hand and a date display, while a notched rotating bezel aligns a 24-city world-time ring with a day/night scale. The 10.25 mm case is comparatively slim for a travel watch, and a sapphire exhibition back reveals its movement. A dark-blue leather strap completes the palette.

Raymond Weil’s handwritten signature takes the place of a conventional logo, tying the watch’s travel-oriented complication to the person it honours. The edition is listed at €4,395 in Europe. It is a compelling example of watch design using relief, restrained colour and carefully layered information to make a familiar complication feel personal.
