What to know

Zenith’s DEFY Extreme Ultraviolet applies a violet-toned display to a microblasted titanium case. The 45 mm design revisits the colour language of the earlier DEFY 21 Ultraviolet while adopting the more angular construction of the Extreme collection. Violet-tinted sapphire lets the movement remain part of the dial’s appearance.

Its automatic El Primero 9004 separates ordinary timekeeping from the chronograph: one escapement runs at 5 Hz, the other at 50 Hz. The central stopwatch hand completes a revolution each second, displaying hundredths. Zenith lists a 50-hour timekeeping reserve and 20 ATM water resistance. The July announcement includes a violet rubber strap, titanium bracelet and black Velcro option.
