What to know
Auctor’s Zen takes a deliberately unconventional approach to time display. Instead of asking an hour hand to travel around fixed numerals, the hour numerals rotate beneath a stationary indicator. The layered brass dial gives the mechanism a theatrical quality without needing an exposed tourbillon or open-worked movement.
The 40 mm case is made from 904L steel with a gold-coloured PVD treatment, while a double-domed sapphire crystal sits above the embossed dial. Beneath it is a Sellita SW200-1A automatic calibre. Auctor offers two visual interpretations: the light Éclat and dark Noire.

The Zen is scheduled to begin a Kickstarter campaign on 20 October 2026, with early-bird pricing reported around US$899. As a watch-design experiment, it makes the familiar act of reading an hour feel unfamiliar again.
