Maison Cousineau Outrigger: first look at a 39mm layered-dial watch targeting December orders

Maison Cousineau is still developing its Outrigger, but its newly shared imagery is already revealing a distinctive approach to a compact everyday mechanical watch. Inspired by the clarity of field instruments, the design places a sloped minute track outside a recessed circular dial centre, with applied numerals and markers arranged across carefully separated layers.

The current engineering target is a 39 mm two-piece steel case with approximately 9.9 mm thickness. Parallel grooves cut through the exposed flanks to make the case look slimmer and more architectural. The proposed 20 mm barrel-link bracelet tapers toward 16 mm, with quick release and on-the-fly clasp adjustment still in the development brief. A Miyota 9039 automatic and 100-metre resistance are current targets.

The colour proposals include Hunter Green/Latte, Navy/Latte and Blue Gradation. Importantly, every accompanying image is a development rendering—not a photograph of a production watch. The brand targets December 2026 preorders only after a Golden Sample and production commitment; a May 2027 arrival and $747 retail price are plans rather than guarantees. This early-stage preview makes those uncertainties explicit.
