What to know
The Type 5 L is Ressence's answer to the conventional night-diver formula. Introduced in June 2024, it does not simply brighten a few hands and hour markers; instead, almost the entire dial is filled with blue and green Super-LumiNova. By daylight it is a quiet, technical grey diver with orbital displays. In darkness the whole dial becomes an almost luminous canvas, its moving discs still legible against the glowing surface.

Behind the curved sapphire lies a sealed, oil-filled upper chamber containing the ROCS 5 orbital display. The mechanical movement sits separately in a dry chamber and communicates through magnetic transmission. The oil reduces underwater optical distortion, so the indications remain unusually easy to read from oblique angles. A compensating bellows system accommodates temperature-related changes in the oil's volume.

The 46 mm grade 5 titanium case has a unidirectional bezel, the Ressence Compression Lock System for setting and winding, and ISO-certified 100 m water resistance. Its automatic customised ETA-based movement offers 36 hours of reserve. The Type 5 L currently appears on Ressence's official site at €45,700 including VAT, a specialised dive-watch experiment that makes legibility part of its visual identity.
