What to know
The SPB505J1 is the understated counterpart to Seiko’s blue Alpinist. Its black dial, steel hands and pale Arabic numerals emphasize legibility, while flashes of red on the compass scale provide just enough colour to remind the wearer that this is an outdoor instrument rather than a conventional dress watch. Seiko’s two-crown arrangement and rotating inner compass bezel retain the Alpinist’s instantly recognisable profile.
The automatic calibre 6R55 provides a three-day power reserve. Like its blue sibling, the watch uses a 39.5 mm coated stainless-steel case, sapphire crystal with magnified date, 200 m water resistance and a steel bracelet. November 2025 was the original availability window. Seiko lists the model at €1,080 in its Dutch catalogue.
