What to know
Introduced for September 2025, the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer SPB513 gives a familiar sports-watch layout an uncommon interactive element: an internal countdown ring operated from the crown at four o’clock. Its silver-toned dial and orange scale accents are framed by a compact, angular steel case influenced by the design language of 1970s Speedtimers.
Despite the Speedtimer name, this is a three-hand automatic rather than a chronograph. Seiko’s 6R55 calibre offers approximately 72 hours of power reserve, while the 39.5mm case measures 12mm thick and is rated to 200 metres. A curved sapphire crystal covers the recessed ring, creating depth without a conventional exposed timing bezel.

The design is particularly interesting because the countdown scale changes the watch’s purpose while leaving the ordinary time display clear. At a Belgian list price of €990, it is also an accessible example of the hidden-bezel format.
